The Drakensberg and Kruger National Park Holiday Experience

Unicorn Trails combines two of South Africa’s favourite holiday destinations in one trip. The first is the famous Drakensberg Mountains destination, which is found in several parts of South Africa, and the neighbouring country, Lesotho. The mountains stretch from the Eastern Cape through KwaZulu-Natal, all the way to Mpumalanga and finally, Limpopo. The second is the Kruger National Park, which is known for being a home to Africa’s Big 5. The trail offers the ultimate trail experience starting from horse riding through the mountains, to experiencing the best of Africa’s wildlife in the game reserve by safari vehicle.

What You Can Expect To Do

The trail is led by one of the area’s best guides leading you through routes where you can view sites to see like the Blyde River Canyon, and God’s Window. The trail spans over 7 days, with 3 days spent on horseback to the Kruger National Park. There are stops in between the ride to the Park where you can get a taste of local life in Limpopo, and the opportunity to get know some of the locals history which includes a gold mining village, and a community project to take part in. Once at the Park, you can have an open vehicle game drive.

How To Book And Sites To See

You can book your tour and trail visit through the website which has the telephone contact details, an email, as well as a form you can fill in if you would like to query specifics in the trip. There are some strict rules related to the riders therefore it is important to take advantage of these details leading up to your trip. This is a 7 day trip so it is important to book early for reservation, and also to note the weather ahead of time, as 3 nights are spent sleeping in a tented shelter as part of the excursion.
